Large October Virtual Job Fair Free to Local Businesses and Job Seekers

We are excited to announce the Grand Erie Virtual Job Fair & Skills Exploration Event, to be held entirely online Oct. 6, 2020, serving Brantford and surrounding communities.

This day-long virtual event will be free to residents. An anticipated 2,000 to 3,000 participants from our region will have an opportunity to learn about exciting careers in the skilled trades, local training, apprenticeships and future job trends.

The focus is promoting skilled trades as a “first class” career option, community building, and inspiring individuals to succeed. Participants can “meet” and chat with employers in need of workers, now or in the future.

Local businesses are invited to be exhibitors. In support of our region’s COVID-19 recovery efforts, there is no cost to exhibitors to be involved. There are a limited number of sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations who want to market themselves to a motivated audience.

The Grand Erie Virtual Job Fair & Skills Exploration Event will be using a platform called vFairs. vFairs uses advanced, 3D technology to recreate a live event experience, featuring an exhibition hall with exhibit booths, panel discussions and webinars, and an auditorium with exciting speakers. The keynote speaker is Mandy Rennehan, a celebrity promoter of the skilled trades. Video footage of local businesses will also engage participants.

All exhibitors will receive help on how to set up their booth with easy-to-use templates. On the day of the event, exhibitors will need a couple of employees to remotely staff their booth, talk with job seekers and visitors through chat, email and Zoom.

Due to the pandemic’s impact, many people are rethinking their employment options, looking for a more secure career, or considering a second career. This is the right time to showcase careers in the trades.
