Koolatron Retooling to Protect Frontline Workers
Koolatron Corporation has stepped up to address the critical shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available to help protect our frontline workers and healthcare professionals during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Koolatron Corporation is a long-standing corporate citizen in the City of Brantford beginning operations in 1982. They manufacture thermo-electric coolers, car care products including wash brushes, ice scrapers, snow brushes, battery chargers and filter water coolers.
In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic and to address critical shortages of personal protective equipment, the company has shifted production to a new range of products including disposable surgical masks, N95 masks, face shields, vaccine, blood and specimen transportation coolers and heavy duty stair climbing carts.
Koolatron Corporation has also acquired their Medical Device Establishment Licence (MDEL) from Health Canada to manufacture Class I devices for distribution.
Koolatron Corporation is part of Brantford’s advanced manufacturing sector, committed to product, process, and technological innovation. This important sector employs approximately 2,100 people and operates in facilities totaling in excess of 1.85 million sq. ft.
The City would like to express its gratitude to Koolatron Corporation, recognizing the importance their rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic plays in building a Canadian supply of essential equipment, products, and therapeutics.
