Film Productions Coming to Brantford in March 2020

Upcoming Film Projects

As the film and television industry continues to grow in Ontario, Brantford is also experiencing an increase in the number of productions both exploring location options and committing to filming here. The following summarizes two upcoming productions coming to the city.

Phoenix

The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to welcome the cast and crew from Pheonix to film scenes for an upcoming episode.

They will be filming interior scenes in a space owned by Wilfrid Laurier University at 1 Market Square. The film crew will be on site to prepare on February 25-28 and March 2, and will be filming on March 3 from 6 am to 11 pm. The wrap-up days for filming are March 4-6. The crew’s base camp will be located in the Civic Centre parking lot from March 2-4. A filming notice will be distributed to residents and businesses in the vicinity.

    • Weekday reserved parking for the 14 spots along the south side of Dalhousie (from Charlotte Street to Market Street)
    • Sidewalk closures along the south side of Dalhousie Street (from Charlotte Street to Market Street)
    • March 2 at 6am to March 4 at 7am
      • Full day and night reserved parking for the following parking stalls: 14 spots along the south side of Dalhousie Street (from Charlotte Street to Market Street); 9 spots on the south side of Dalhousie Street (from Market Street to Harmony Square); 3 spots on the north side of Colborne Street, at the south end of Harmony Square; 4 western spots (out of 9) between 220 Colborne Street and the Market Square loading docks on the north side of Colborne; 7 spots on the north side of Colborne Street between Bain Street and Charlotte Street
      • March 2 at 6am to March 4 at 7am
        • Full day and night sidewalk closure from along the south side of Dalhousie Street (from Charlotte Street to Market Street)
        • Intermittent pedestrian sidewalk closures along the south side of Dalhousie Street (from Market Street to Harmony Square), and on the north side of Colborne Street (between Market Street and Charlotte

Blood and Water

The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to welcome the cast and crew from the third season of Blood and Water who will be filming scenes for an upcoming episode at Elements Casino Brantford.

The film crew will be on location from March 2-5 and March 9-12. The Civic Centre auditorium has been rented to accommodate meals for the cast and crew from 4 am to 10 am on the days outlined.

As this production will be entirely contained onsite at Elements Casino Brantford and no anticipated impacts are expected, a filming notification letter to residents and businesses is not required.

Blood and Water is a Canadian TV series that revolves around a young female police detective who is fighting cancer and trying to solve the murder of a Vancouver billionaire's drug-addicted son. The series breaks down barriers by integrating Mandarin, Cantonese and English languages onscreen. It is broadcast on OMNI Television.
