Brantford sees strong industrial construction in August

The City released its August 2020 Report on Construction Activity demonstrating a construction value of $12.389 million for 101 permits issued. Increases were seen in the Industrial and Duplex, Triplex, Fourplex (New) sectors of construction.

The largest increase occurred in the Industrial sector where six building permits were issued for projects with a total construction value of $6.473 million, compared to the same time last year, when there were 4 building permits issued with a construction value of $1.234 million. The largest valued permit issued in the Industrial sector was to Brantford Power to build a new bus garage, which has a construction value of $6 million. An increase also occurred in the Duplex, Triplex, Fourplex (New) sector with a construction value of $1.914 million.

The City’s year-to-date construction value of $171.190 million is approximately 29 per cent above last year’s total of $132.867 million for the same time period.
